Carnivore Coprolite with Furrows

Some of the most interesting fossil poo can be found in New Mexico. While there are no visible inclusions, this coprolite does have some interesting surface features. Longitudinal striations, or furrows, can be seen under magnification. These were likely left by the creatures sphincter.
