Mamma Maia - Did You Go Again?
Fossil Type
Composition
Formation
Period
This calcareous creation was reportedly found with other similar specimens in a 10x10-foot site in a Maiasaura (Maiasaura peeblesorum) nesting area. Did you know when a lot of coprolites are found in one area, we refer to them as latrines?
I would like to do a little more testing to determine whether it contains plant material before officially proclaiming it is a coprolite. There are a lot of rocks out there being sold as fossil poo that are really just interesting rocks. This one has a little more promise than most. Wasn't there an Abba song written about this type of poop? No? Well there should be. It would go something like this:
I’ve been studying poo from way, way back when. Doo, doo, doo, doo, do, do Doo, doo, doo, doo, do, do I can’t tell if it’s rock or from a rear end. Doo, doo, doo, doo, do, do Doo, doo, doo, doo, do, do Look at this now, what can we learn? What kind of chow, did this animal like to munch? Were there vegetables in its lunch? Just one look and I cannot see a thing Gobbled gook, is that what you were eating? Whoa-o-o-o Mamma Maia, did you go again? Try, try, I can’t tell if it’s poo Mamma Maia, did you know back then? Why, why, we would think this came from you Maybe you thought you farted, Then a big deuce departed My, my, maybe you’d just squat to go Mamma Maia, guess we’ll never know My, my, how you would expel your doh
