This spiral coprolite has a soft, chalky composition with wide thin ribbons. Currently, only a few species of fish are known to have a spiral valves as part of their digestive systems. These include some sharks, rays, skates and lungfish. This particular coprolite has numerous bone inclusions. It is one of the numerous specimens collected by Ron Ritchie in 1999 while surveying an area cleared to build an elementary school.
