Spiral Coprolite

In Morocco, coprolites as well as other fossils are collected and sold by local individuals. Not much care is taken to document exact geographic locations, stratigraphy (the layers the fossils are found in), nor nearby fossils. However, we can tell from its spiral shape that its originator was most likely a large carnivorous fish such as a shark or ray.
